Installation and Requirements Choosing your Hot Tub Today, there are so many different sizes and shapes of spas, there's one to fit virtually any home. From cozy spaces for two, to roomy spas for the whole family, your choices are practically unlimited. The most straight forward way to choose which hot tub to choose is to firsly decide the maximum about of people you wish the hot tub to hold, if you follow the links to our own range range and the Spa Crest and Vision range you can see the types of hot tub available. The next stage is to choose a location for the hot tub. Most people find a deck or patio to be an ideal spot. But we have installed hot tubs in conservatories and even garages! As the hot tub doesn't need plumbing in you only need to consider the electical supply when placing the tub. Because there are so many sizes of spas available, it's impossible to say exactly how much space you'll need. But you can use these figures as a starting point:
An important part of the installation is the delivery we will situate your hot tub on to its pad, unlike some suppliers who may just leave it on your drive! The hot tub will be deliveried using a specialist trailer and will be transported from the trailer on a spa dolly. The tub will be moved on its side so the access width required will become the height of the hot tub. Also please be aware of any height restrictions you might have e.g. low guttering and also any tight turns that might need to be made. If you don't have sufficient access a crane might be required but we can arrange this. Base A full hot tub can weight up to 3 tonnes! Your hot tub needs to be situated on a minimum of a quality patio base. If having a concrete base built, it needs to be a approximately 4" to 6" thick and be slightly larger than the base of the hot tub. If its being situated on decking then this will need to be reinforced accordingly also. We can arrange for the base for your new hot tub to be installed, in fact we can provide a full landscaping service. All our landscaping services are provided by an excellent local company called Boast About The Garden. Our hot tubs require their own dedicated power supply with their own RCD (circuit breaker). The majority of our hot tubs run off a 32amp supply. If requested we can provide a qualified eletrician to install your hot tub, please ask for further details. Water Supply All out hot tubs are completely stand alone and do not have to be plumbed in to any water supply or drainage. The hot tub just needs in a location where it can be filled, usually with a hose pipe. Our hot tubs have their own drain valve which can be connected up to a hose and drained away. We use a clean water garden pump with a hose attachment to empty our tub which we find most convenient. Water Care You don't need to drain a hot tub after each use, water changes are done every 3 months depending on use. But it is very important to maintain water quality to keep the water clean and protect parts like the heater and shell from damage. All out hot tubs have their own filtration system. The filter cartridge will need to be removed and rinsed out with a hose regularly and replaced approximately every 6 months, again depending on use. We can supply all necessary chemicals and advice for looking after your water. Safety To keep children and pets safe around the spa use the locks provided on the cover when your hot tub isn't in use. In general, children under 6 years old shouldn't use a hot tub — and of course, no child should be allowed near a hot tub without adult supervision. Pregnant women should consult their doctor before using a spa. Always read your owner's manual before operating your spa for the first time. |
